I have learned -the hard way- how I can measure my blood sugar, my body’s reactions to food and exercise and use the numbers as a basis to manage and balance my diabetes much better, easier and more efficient. How People & Environment Affect Your Health http://www.diabetic-diet-guide.com/how-people-environment-affect-your-health/ http://www.diabetic-diet-guide.com/how-people-environment-affect-your-health/#comments Tue, 13 Oct 2015 21:52:05 +0000 http://www.diabetic-diet-guide.com/?p=2826

In this video, I talk about how people, places, environments, situations and things can make or break your way to great health and a balanced diabetic life. Have you ever had a friend who always seems to lift you up, get you back on your feet, feel happy or push you to the limits? Have your diabetes been better because someone was there to remind you about the food or insulin? Maybe you have had people and colleagues that makes you fall to the temptation of joining them to a fast food restaurant or a doughnut competition. To you get inspired to workout in a park or the gym or in the sofa in front of the TV? In both good and bad ways, people and our surrounding affects our physical and mental well being and it is important to have self-awareness and understand when these people and places affects us and how and what we can change and do differently to improve it so we can continue to thrive and live in health and balance with our diabetes.

How To Get Started, Get Into Habits & Routines & Succeed with Exercise, Diet and Life http://www.diabetic-diet-guide.com/how-to-get-started-get-into-habits-routines-succeed-with-exercise-diet-and-life/ http://www.diabetic-diet-guide.com/how-to-get-started-get-into-habits-routines-succeed-with-exercise-diet-and-life/#comments Wed, 30 Sep 2015 00:20:23 +0000 http://www.diabetic-diet-guide.com/?p=2821 I felt it was time to do it on the fly! In this video I speak from my heart during my run in the park about how to failproof your way to success and how to get started and take the first step with exercise, with health, with food and diet and with every aspect of life!

Taking small steps and start with a failproof and super easy challenge will not only make you feel good because you accomplish something more often even if it’s so small, it also builds up slowly and steady so you can get to your goal in life and with your health in a much steadier pace and with very little risk of failing and giving up. Simply, the slow step-by-step and build up slowly strategy just gives us small wins that enocourage us to go to the next step.

It’s like if you start karate. Fighting with another beginner makes it easier, more interesting and fun. Put your first fight against a black belt master that will kick your ass in two seconds will most likely make you unmotivated, irritated and give up before even get started. You know you want to have the black belt, but you need to go through all the color belts first and advance slowly. You learn the basics first, the easy but fundamental things, not the crazy backflip super kick ;)

Green Juice for Diabetes & Balanced Blood Sugar http://www.diabetic-diet-guide.com/green-juice-for-diabetes-balanced-blood-sugar/ http://www.diabetic-diet-guide.com/green-juice-for-diabetes-balanced-blood-sugar/#comments Fri, 17 Apr 2015 15:03:59 +0000 http://www.diabetic-diet-guide.com/?p=2800 Perfect green juice for both Type 1 and 2 Diabetics and glucose blood sugar friendly!

This is a green juice I make as a Type 1 Diabetic almost every day for breakfast. It’s healthy, it’s fresh, tasty and full of vitamins and minerals… a bomb of nutritional awesomeness! It has very little affect on my blood sugar and is outbalanced perfectly by my long acting insulin after my morning workout.

This green juice makes me quite satisfied for a long time and is a perfect start on my days in my diabetes life!

It’s such a healthy green juice because it contains:

Spinach: Extremely high nutritional value and is rich in antioxidants. Good source of vitamins A, B2, C and K, and also contains magnesium, manganese, folate, iron, calcium and potassium.

Parsley: High amounts of Vitamin K, A, C, Folate, Iron and Magnesium. Helps to lower blood sugar levels.

Celery: Its nutrients can prevent Type 2 Diabetes. High in Riboflavin, Vitamin B6, Pantothenic Acid, Calcium, Magnesium and Phosphorus, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Folate, Potassium and Manganese.

Lemon: Good source of Folate and Potassium, and a very good source of Vitamin C. Lemon juice helps Type 1 Diabetics to lower blood sugar and increase insulin sensitivity and it’s also a great weight loss remedy.

Ginger: Breaks down glycogen so it decreases blood sugar. Good source of Vitamin C, Magnesium, Potassium, Copper and Manganese.

Cucumber: Good source of Vitamin A, Pantothenic Acid, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Manganese, and a very good source of Vitamin C, Vitamin K and Potassium.

Apple: Contains soluble fiber which makes them release sugar into the blood stream more slowly, giving you a smoother glucose blood sugar curve. Good amounts of dietary fiber and vitamin C.

Avocado: Healthy fats, may improve insulin sensitivity and improves heart health. Lots of fiber to counter carbs and helps the body absorb nutrients better. Full of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin C, Vitamin K and Folate.

Super Simple Diabetic & Blood Sugar Friendly Recipe http://www.diabetic-diet-guide.com/super-simple-diabetic-blood-sugar-friendly-recipe/ http://www.diabetic-diet-guide.com/super-simple-diabetic-blood-sugar-friendly-recipe/#respond Fri, 17 Apr 2015 13:31:05 +0000 http://www.diabetic-diet-guide.com/?p=2797 Here’s my favorite go-to diabetic & blood sugar friendly recipe that is so easy to do and takes almost no time at all!

It works for both Type 1 Diabetics and Type 2 Diabetics of course, is low in carbs, high in good protein and only has 3 ingredients and some spices!

For me, it’s important to have low and slow carbohydrates, as well as get that protein to fill me up so my blood sugar will be more balanced and not spike very quickly and can then be balanced with my long acting insulin.

It might not be the thing you serve at the Nobel Prize dinner but it is very tasty, healthy, filling, quick and easy.

Everytime I’m in a rush or I have been traveling for a while and coming home, I always make this dish because the ingredients can be stored for a long time so it’s perfect for almost any time of siuation, especially when time is of the essence! :)

5 Great Diabetic Tips & Daily Routines For A Healthier Diabetes Life http://www.diabetic-diet-guide.com/5-great-diabetic-tips-daily-routines-for-a-healthier-diabetes-life/ http://www.diabetic-diet-guide.com/5-great-diabetic-tips-daily-routines-for-a-healthier-diabetes-life/#respond Fri, 17 Apr 2015 13:10:43 +0000 http://www.diabetic-diet-guide.com/?p=2793 Here are 5 Great Diabetic Tips you can do as daily routines to have a healthier and more balanced life with Diabetes.

These diabetic tips I share have been crafted through my own experience and experiments with how life works and what I figured out helps me the most with the least effort. Life with diabetes can be tough, complicated and even a struggle at times, so I wanted to make this video to share with you, tips and ideas we can make a habit, a daily routine that will make our lives easier and healthier!

Some of these will directly affect your diabetes while some will indirectly affect it because they will increase your general health which of course is also very important in a diabetic life.

1. Hydration – So many problems can be solved by just staying properly hydrated and drink around 3 litres of pure water everyday. You can easily improve your health by simply adding more water into your diabetic life and daily routines!

2. Probiotics – Happy and good bacterias for the gut is also very important for the whole flow of your body and digestion. Many if not all health problems start in the gut and it’s therefor very important to keep a healthy gut flora so your health is optimal!

3. Go to sleep and wake up at the same time – The human body likes routines -at least in some cases- and sleep is one of them. As a human, and especially as a diabetic, having a healthty life with a lot of sleep is essential. Sleeping has so many benefits for us like resting, detoxing, removing old cells and making new ones and much more. Sleeping in 90 minute cycles will definitely make you feel more rested and give you a body with more energy to give you health and take care of your blood sugar and be more physically and mentally strong.

4. Hot lemon tea upon waking up – I’ve mentioned this before but worth mentioning again. Having a nice cup of hot water with lemon juice and ginger will give you a good cleansing start on the day. I take this before a little 30-60min workout before I go for my green juice breakfast.

5. Daily Exercise – Having daily exercise is like sleeping…essential! It helps the body to sweat out and detox, keeps the body and mind fresh with oxygen and keeps the heart and lungs healthy which as you now is vital for your survival and will affect the whole system of your body, including glucose blood sugar levels, insulin sensitivity etc.
